These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of stemact.org (the “Site”), operated by STEMACT, Inc. (“STEMACT,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Site.

Who These Terms Are For

These Terms cover public use of the Site, including browsing events, partners, and news, and submitting events or contact forms. They don’t cover STEMACT’s internal staff systems, which are governed separately.

Using the Site

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in a way that doesn’t interfere with others’ use of it. You agree not to:

Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent event or contact information
Submit content that infringes on someone else’s intellectual property or violates their privacy
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its data, or related systems
Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Site in a way that disrupts its normal operation
Upload or transmit malicious code

Submitted Content

When you submit an event or contact form, you’re responsible for the accuracy of what you submit. By submitting an event, you grant STEMACT permission to publish, edit for clarity or formatting, and display that event on the Site and in related promotional materials. STEMACT reviews submissions before publishing and may decline, edit, or remove any submission at its discretion, including listings that are inaccurate, inappropriate, or not aligned with STEMACT’s mission.

Third-Party Content & Links

The Site links to and lists events, organizations, and resources maintained by third parties. STEMACT doesn’t control and isn’t responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party sites or the organizations and events listed on the Site. Inclusion of a partner or event listing isn’t an endorsement unless stated otherwise.

Intellectual Property

The STEMACT name, logo, and original Site content are the property of STEMACT and may not be used without permission. Content submitted by users remains owned by the submitter, subject to the license granted above.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. STEMACT doesn’t guarantee the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that event information is always accurate or current. Always confirm event details directly with the organizer before attending.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, STEMACT isn’t liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site, including reliance on event or partner information listed on it.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We’ll update the “Last updated” date above when we do. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
