Cedar Wood Preserve 180 North Wawecus Hill Road, Norwich
About this event
Join CLCC, Avalonia Land Conservancy, and Otis Library for a special Walktober Nature Walk and Talk on Saturday, October 10, 2026! We will begin at 10:00 AM at Cedar Wood Preserve for a guided walk through the preserve using eBird to document the birds we see along the way. Following the walk, participants will gather at Otis Library for a light lunch and a discussion of our observations and findings. Learn how community science tools like eBird and iNaturalist help conservationists track biodiversity, monitor environmental changes, and support land conservation efforts throughout Connecticut and beyond. Whether you are new to nature exploration or already enjoy hiking and wildlife observation, this program is a great opportunity to connect with nature, learn new skills, and contribute to real conservation research!
