Organizer:
Join us for a Math Teacher Circle 4 Social Justice session. We meet online for problem solving and conversation. September’s session is The Geometry of Green Spaces presented by Kyle Evans of Assumption University. We encourage anyone interested in teaching math with social justice goals to attend! Our focus is a little more secondary, but the sessions are accessible to all.
Description: What does mathematics have to say about your favorite park or trail? We will explore the geometry of “green spaces” in your own towns and cities – how do we quantify if there is “enough” and who has access? We will use mapping tools and hopefully give you a lesson for your Geometry class!
